"Families are as diverse as individuals. The activities they do together vary, but one thing is true for all of them: "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time." Whether family members get together for scheduled outings, sharing interests, or serving others, these gatherings strengthen relationships that can be eternal."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Basketball Camp

This summer Chase did basketball camp at Basha High School.  HE LOVED IT!!!!!  He went every day M-Th from 9-10:30.  He had such a great time.  We will definitely do it again next summer!

Blake's 4 year old doctor visit

Blake turned 4 in March but due to (the doctor rescheduling on us not once but twice) we finally went to the dreaded 4 year old visit.  When I told him it was time to go and he asked if he was getting shots... I told him yes.  He was really bummed out.
This is Blake as we were getting out of the car at the doctors office.  He was not pleased.
He weighed in at at whopping 37 lbs.

The vision test.
Now, we are just waiting.  We were being very silly and I was glad for the distraction during the dreaded wait.  Blake definitely did not want to get shots but he was such a brave boy.  He got right on the table, we did not have to hold him at all and he did not cry.  He got the TB test and 4 SHOTS. One in each arm and one in each leg.  YIKES!
What a terrible picture.  However, when Blake saw this picture he could not stop laughing.
This was Blake after his shots walking to the car.  He was telling me all the things  he would not be able to do "for days" because of his shots.  Mom, I can't go to swimming lessons, Mom, I can't go to preschool, Mom, I can't sit in my carseat, Mom, I can't pick up toys.  He was so funny!
He even was not sure he would be able to walk anymore.  He was also very concerned about his bandaids coming off.  We were very careful for the rest of the day and he recovered just fine.

When You Wish Upon A Star

Hayden's Dance Recital- Jeanne's Dance, 2009
This was at their dress rehersal.  They did their dance to the song- "Shake Your Groove Thing"

Hayden was definitely the best SHAKER!
Here's some of the girls "backstage" playing until it is their time to go on the BIG STAGE!
Hayden getting her ORANGE flowers after the show was over.  (She was SOOOO excited that she got orange flowers!)
Belle, Hayden and Brylee after the show.
Sweet sisters- Lauren loved watching the show.  She even busted out a few dance moves in the isle.  I think she is going to love dance as much as Hayden.
Sheri and Grandma also came to watch Hayden shake her groove thing!
I am so proud of you!
Daddy is so proud too!
My 2 beautiful daughters!
Hayden- we are so proud of you and all your accomplishments this year in dance.  I love to see you work hard and then have a great show so we can see all the things you have learned.  (Okay, you dance around all day but usually not in a fabulous costume on a big stage with a huge bouquet of feathers on your head!)  You are so talented and I hope you continue to love to develop this talent!  We love you!

Goodbye to Kindergarten!

Pretty Princess- 6 years old
On June 2nd, Hayden had her Kindergarten Graduation.  Hayden had been looking forward to this for weeks!  Here they are walking in.
Hayden was in the very front row.  She had a speaking part so they lined up all the kids in the front who were going to speak.  (I know she LOVED this.)
Singing all kinds of cute songs.
Here's Hayden saying her part-
"Happy days are on the way;
We'll be going to school next fall,
So before we part we'll say
Goodbye, goodbye to all."
---------
She did such a great job and we are so proud her!
CTA Freedom Kindergarten classes- 2009

Mrs. Mendoza gave each child an award.  Hayden got the award for "Most Organized"-  that's my girl!
We LOVE Mrs. Mendoza!  She has been such a great teacher for Hayden (Chase had her for Kindergarten as well and did amazing!).  She saw all of Hayden's strengths and potential.  Hayden is so smart and loves to excel.  She did so well in AR as a Kindergartner!  It is so exciting to watch her read and to LOVE to read.
Hayden's best friend Leah.  They share the same birthday!
Hayden is definitely on the tall side.
Hayden- we are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments this year!  I am amazed at what a hard worker you are.  At such a young age you are already so responsible and you love to succeed.  You always do your best.  You are a great friend and an amazing sister and daughter!  We are excited to see you go to first grade.  You love school so much and have such a strong desire to learn.  You are a fabulous helper and I could not have asked for a better daughter.  You definitely have a dramatic side to you but it has made for many memorable moments.  WE LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

MISSIONARIES

I am feeling so grateful for missionaries.  It still amazes me the selflessness that young 19 year old boys show when they go to serve missions.  These young boys graduating from high school then prepare to go for 2 years of their lives in a foreign place with no family or friends and do it so willingly.  I am so lucky to have 2 GREAT examples of missionaries in my family.  The first is my brother Seth.  He is serving in the Dallas, Texas (Spanish speaking) mission.  His letters are so amazing and I am so proud of him.  He is doing great and having so many great experiences.  We love to get his letters and hear about all his amazing experiences.
The 2nd amazing missionary is my cousin Josh.  He is serving in the Kingston, Jamaica mission.  This is a pretty dangerous mission to be in.  I love everytime I am with his mom- she is making some tape for him or telling us stories about the things that Josh has seen and experienced.
(Josh is on the right)
(Josh is on the left)
Thanks Seth and Josh for being such amazing examples to our kids.  You two have chosen the best path for your lives and your selfless dedication to others is so inspiring.  I can't wait to see the both of you next year!

Blake's Swimming Lessons

Blake started swimming lessons with Ms. Traci (Traci Willis).  He is doing so well and learning so much!  Traci is so good with the kids and Blake has loved every minute of it!
Ring around the rosies in the pool.
Ready, set, GO!
He's a pro!
Waiting patiently for his next turn.
He's a FISH!!!
Monkey walk (complete with sound effects).
Blake was so brave and jumped off the diving board.

Blake is by far my latest swimmer.  He's just naturally a little more cautious than the older kids.  But, by the 2nd lesson he was swimming!  We are so proud of you buddy- you are doing great!

Lauren LOVES Shoes!

This little girl absolutely LOVES shoes.  She always wants them on and these ones just happen to be her most favorite!  She even wanted them on in the pool.  She also LOVES clothes and bows in her hair!(She had one on in the pool and I secretly removed it- she kept saying, Bow? Bow?)  She is very opinionated about what I put on her and after getting dressed she immediately wants a bow in her hair.  She is so sweet and funny and we are so lucky to have her in our family.  It just gets me everytime that she is only 19 months old!!!!!!  WE are in for some fun times!!!!!!
