"Families are as diverse as individuals. The activities they do together vary, but one thing is true for all of them: "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time." Whether family members get together for scheduled outings, sharing interests, or serving others, these gatherings strengthen relationships that can be eternal."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Chicken Polka Dots

My nephew was one of those lucky kids who falls in that 2% category.  By 2% I mean only 2% of kids who get the chicken pox vaccine will actually get chicken pox.  Well, he got chicken pox.  Poor kid... he got them everywhere and bad.  Well, the next day Lauren got some.  She was also one of those lucky kids in that 2%.  Fortunately, she only got a few of them, no fever, no itching.  It was so cute because she referred to them as her chicken polka dots.  Love that girl!

The Blue Dress

I just LOVE this dress!  Once again my multi-talented Grandma Mag made this most adorable dress for Lauren.  Lauren loves it and so do I.  Thanks again Grandma Mag!

The Purple Dress

My Grandma (lovingly referred to as Grandma Mag) is so talented, kind, sweet, and giving.  When we were in California she told us all about these little girl dresses that she made.  Well, I am always in love with anything that Grandma Mag makes.  I still sleep with the blanket that she made me when I was a young girl.  She is also the crafter of my kids favorite blankets, Baby Magi, Christmas ornaments and many other wonderful creations that are in my home.  So, one day Lauren and I went to visit her and we left with 3 of the most adorable dresses ever!  This purple dress is just lovely.  When Lauren wears it she tells everyone, "my Grandma Mag made this for me!"  She loves Grandma Mag's masterpieces just as much as I do!

Ghost Movie Stills

Brian took these pictures and they look so scary.  The light is from Lite Brite and the Laptop.  I thought they looked like ghost movie still photos!

Curlers

Lauren's first time for curlers!

All little girls should own sponge curlers.  It is a right of little girl passage to have your pulled and twisted into these spongey cylinders.  Then, spend a restless evening trying to get comfy while sleeping with these attached to your head.  The outcome is usually cute (unless you use curlers that are too small).  The girls looked so cute with the curlers in.  Too bad Lauren only kept hers in for about 10 minutes.

Toy Fads

In my lifetime I have seen many toys come and go.  Toys that I begged and pleaded for and just had to have.  Cabbage Patch Dolls... oh, my!  My parents waited in line outside to get me a coveted Cabbage Patch doll for Christmas.  I was probably interested in it for about 6 months and that was considered a long time in the amount of time I spent interested in other toy fads.  Now, my children do the same thing.  Pokemon cards, Bakugan, Zsu Zsu pets, and those crazy silly bands.  These have all had a very short shelf life in our house yet, were begged and pleaded for.  So, on to Littlest Pet Shops.  Hayden LOVES these.  She loves to collect them and play with them and this toy fad has been going strong for nearly 2 years!!!!

Cheerleader in Training

Look at that hair!

Hayden really wants to be a cheerleader.  She loves to practice her jumps and all her tricks!  She works on them everyday.  I love to see her work on something she loves.

Dancing Shoes

When we took the kids shopping for shoes before school started Lauren instantly spotted these pink beauties.  The flower and gem in the middle was just more than she could bear to part with.  So.... what does her Daddy do?  He buys them of course.  They very fondly became known as the Dancing Shoes.  That is what Lauren calls them and when she asks for them I know exactly what shoes she is wanting to wear.  They make her feel lighter than air and she dances all around the house in them.  I really love her dancing shoes just as much as she does.
