"Families are as diverse as individuals. The activities they do together vary, but one thing is true for all of them: "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time." Whether family members get together for scheduled outings, sharing interests, or serving others, these gatherings strengthen relationships that can be eternal."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Goodbye to Kindergarten!

Pretty Princess- 6 years old
On June 2nd, Hayden had her Kindergarten Graduation.  Hayden had been looking forward to this for weeks!  Here they are walking in.
Hayden was in the very front row.  She had a speaking part so they lined up all the kids in the front who were going to speak.  (I know she LOVED this.)
Singing all kinds of cute songs.
Here's Hayden saying her part-
"Happy days are on the way;
We'll be going to school next fall,
So before we part we'll say
Goodbye, goodbye to all."
---------
She did such a great job and we are so proud her!
CTA Freedom Kindergarten classes- 2009

Mrs. Mendoza gave each child an award.  Hayden got the award for "Most Organized"-  that's my girl!
We LOVE Mrs. Mendoza!  She has been such a great teacher for Hayden (Chase had her for Kindergarten as well and did amazing!).  She saw all of Hayden's strengths and potential.  Hayden is so smart and loves to excel.  She did so well in AR as a Kindergartner!  It is so exciting to watch her read and to LOVE to read.
Hayden's best friend Leah.  They share the same birthday!
Hayden is definitely on the tall side.
Hayden- we are so proud of you and all of your accomplishments this year!  I am amazed at what a hard worker you are.  At such a young age you are already so responsible and you love to succeed.  You always do your best.  You are a great friend and an amazing sister and daughter!  We are excited to see you go to first grade.  You love school so much and have such a strong desire to learn.  You are a fabulous helper and I could not have asked for a better daughter.  You definitely have a dramatic side to you but it has made for many memorable moments.  WE LOVE YOU SOOOOO MUCH!

MISSIONARIES

I am feeling so grateful for missionaries.  It still amazes me the selflessness that young 19 year old boys show when they go to serve missions.  These young boys graduating from high school then prepare to go for 2 years of their lives in a foreign place with no family or friends and do it so willingly.  I am so lucky to have 2 GREAT examples of missionaries in my family.  The first is my brother Seth.  He is serving in the Dallas, Texas (Spanish speaking) mission.  His letters are so amazing and I am so proud of him.  He is doing great and having so many great experiences.  We love to get his letters and hear about all his amazing experiences.
The 2nd amazing missionary is my cousin Josh.  He is serving in the Kingston, Jamaica mission.  This is a pretty dangerous mission to be in.  I love everytime I am with his mom- she is making some tape for him or telling us stories about the things that Josh has seen and experienced.
(Josh is on the right)
(Josh is on the left)
Thanks Seth and Josh for being such amazing examples to our kids.  You two have chosen the best path for your lives and your selfless dedication to others is so inspiring.  I can't wait to see the both of you next year!

Blake's Swimming Lessons

Blake started swimming lessons with Ms. Traci (Traci Willis).  He is doing so well and learning so much!  Traci is so good with the kids and Blake has loved every minute of it!
Ring around the rosies in the pool.
Ready, set, GO!
He's a pro!
Waiting patiently for his next turn.
He's a FISH!!!
Monkey walk (complete with sound effects).
Blake was so brave and jumped off the diving board.

Blake is by far my latest swimmer.  He's just naturally a little more cautious than the older kids.  But, by the 2nd lesson he was swimming!  We are so proud of you buddy- you are doing great!

Lauren LOVES Shoes!

This little girl absolutely LOVES shoes.  She always wants them on and these ones just happen to be her most favorite!  She even wanted them on in the pool.  She also LOVES clothes and bows in her hair!(She had one on in the pool and I secretly removed it- she kept saying, Bow? Bow?)  She is very opinionated about what I put on her and after getting dressed she immediately wants a bow in her hair.  She is so sweet and funny and we are so lucky to have her in our family.  It just gets me everytime that she is only 19 months old!!!!!!  WE are in for some fun times!!!!!!

Congrats Brittny and Jason!

Photo Booth Fun

At Brittny and Jason's wedding they had a SUPER cute Photo Booth.  We had a lot of FUN in there!

Jason and Brittny's Wedding

On May 30th Jason and Brittny got MARRIED!  Jason got baptized in November so they did their wedding in my parents backyard.  Brittny looked BEAUTIFUL!!!!!  This is Preston (her dad) walking her down the isle.  Yes, her dress is a size 2!
Brittny and Jason looked so happy.  The weather was nice and there were lots of people there to share their special day!
Brittny and Jason Holmes.  The happy, sweet, married couple!
Oh, look another happily married couple!!!!!
Our good friends - The Fosters - also came to the wedding.  Brittny watched their kids a few times.  Before the wedding we went to Red Lobster for dinner. YUM!
Carley looked so pretty and her hair was adorable.  She made a very CUTE flower girl.

My parents and the happy couple.
Brittny's colors were blue and pink.  It was so pretty.  She had lots of food and lots of CANDY!  She had all kinds of pink and blue candy..... even Cotton Candy!
Sweet baby Conner.  He is such a great baby!  This is Steven and Elizabeth's new baby.  He is the 14th grandchild.
Oh look.... another happily married couple.  Sheri and Michael
And another.... Elizabeth and Steven!
Brittny and Jason were so cute and said a few words to the guests.
The bouquet toss!  Carley (who is 8) caught the bouquet.  I am sure there were a lot of single ladies who hope Carley is NOT the next one to get married!

The cake fight!  They must REALLY love each other.  I remember threatening Brian if he even dared smear the cake in my face.  Now, I think it would be funny!  I was a little too uptight on my wedding day- 12 years ago!
Oh good, they kissed and made up!
Cotton Candy Man...aka...Spencer!  He was the MOST HANDSOME cotton candy man that I had ever seen.  (And I have definitely seen my share of cotton candy men!)
Ok- I can't believe I am even putting these pictures up.  They may come down shortly (well, at least until my mom reads my blog- which, actually could take awhile!)  We (ok, not me) so- THEY decorated the car!
THEY wrote on the car, blew up ballons, made interesting shapes and accessories, and made them a ride fit for a KING and QUEEN!  (well, maybe a porn star and her pimp)  Ugh... how old are we again?

Then, the more sensible ones let us know the error of our... I mean THEIR ways and they cleaned it up a bit!
Here we are getting BUSTED!  Good thing there were some grown ups there!
We all had a fabulous night!  The wedding was beautiful, the reception was amazing, the company was outstanding and the laughs were memorable!
Congratulations Brittny and Jason!  We wish you all the best!  We hope you had as much fun as we did!!!!!!
