"Families are as diverse as individuals. The activities they do together vary, but one thing is true for all of them: "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time." Whether family members get together for scheduled outings, sharing interests, or serving others, these gatherings strengthen relationships that can be eternal."

WE LOVE Grandma Mag!!!

September 20-27--- Another week at the condo!!!!  We had such a great time.  The weather was perfect and the company was outstanding.  Mom, us, Huber's, Heywood's, Grandma Mag and even Sam for a few days (minus all the husbands).  We did have Steven there for most of the days and that is always nice because he loves to play with the kids!!!   He is such a great uncle (and brother).  The kids all love him so much because he will build sand castles and play games with them.  Thanks to Kayla and Tatum for sharing the only daddy that was there!  On Saturday we drove to California and that was so fun and the kids did great in the car.  After we got settled at the condo we went down to the beach!  When it got dark and close to dinner time I took the kids to Walmart and they each picked out a toy.  Then, we went and picked up Olive Garden for dinner.  Blake picked out a Darth Tater (Mr. Potato Head dressed up as Darth Vader).  He played with this toy all day everyday.  One day my Grandma was up in the condo and Blake was looking for his Darth Tater and he found him and said... "I'm so glad I found you Darth Tater, I missed you so much!"  Sunday--- we went to church and we were going to send the kids to classes and the adults were going to go back to the condo and take naps (just kidding) but, they were practicing for their primary program so there was really no reason for us to stay.  Later that day we all sat down on the beach and talked (a great family tradition).  And, watched the kids be so tempted by the water-- this time though none of the kids got in-- the devil did not win this time!  Monday-- BEACH ALL DAY!, Tuesday-- BEACH ALL DAY!  Steven, Elizabeth, Kayla and Tatum went to Sea World.  The rest of us went to the outlets that night and my kids got Webkinz!  Got some clothes and then ate at Ruby's (another tradition)-- much to our surprise and delight kids ate free that night!  Wednesday-- BEACH ALL DAY!  That night I got Fidel's cheese crisp.  Thursday-- KNOTTS BERRY FARM!  Julz and family, mom and us went to KBF.  We had so much fun.  It was decorated for Halloween -- let me just say it was not a Disney Halloween, more like a Freddie Kruger Halloween.  On the log ride and a few other rides they had cloaks over the faces because they were to gross.  The park closes at 5:30 and then it turns into Knotts Scary Farm and you have to be 13 or older to be in the park.  The park was only open from 10am - 5:30pm but, we got to ride everything we wanted as many times as we wanted.  The park was so empty all day!  The kids rode the dragon swing 25 times in a row without ever having to get off.  That is how all the rides were.  I would definatly recommend going to KBF in September!  After the park closed we ate at Mrs. Knott's Chicken dinner (this  is a huge family tradition!)  We have never gone to KBF and not eaten Mrs. Knott's Chicken dinner.  It is so fun to pass this tradition on to my kids because we did this everytime when I was a kid.  Grandam Heywood and her Rhubarb!!!!  However, I really did miss my dad not being there.  He always gets so excited for this and has passed that excitement on to us.  The chicken, corn, salad, mashed potatoes, biscuits, and boysenberry pie al a mode.  So YUMMY!  We had a great day and so much fun!  Friday-- our last day on the beach!  Me, Hayden, Blake and Lauren went for a walk that night and ate at Cessy's!  It was soo good.  Then we went to Coldstone for ice cream.  This vacation was so much fun. Also, by about day 3 Lauren decided she loved the ocean.  She would run to the waves and they would knock her down and she would get right back up and do it again with a huge smile on her face. (Reminded me so much of when Chase was 1 and loved the ocean).   We wished Brian could have been there but, it is political season and with 3 books in the works there was just no way.  We are so grateful that he works so hard for us!  The week was full of fun-- 7-11 everyday, ice cream at Linda's and Coldstone everyday, Fidel's-- now called NORTE (I just can't bring myself to call it this), Jamba Juice, toys, shopping, swimming, watching Grandma do puzzles, games, cards, hearing Grandma Mag's stories, lots of laundry, Sheri barfing all night, Sheri's giant cold sore, People Magazine, and lots of snacks!  What a great vacation-- and we also got some really big, exciting news..... on the beach in the sand it said BABY #3..... Steven and Elizabeth are expecting their 3rd baby in April!!!!!  Congrats!

Sunsplash!!!!!

Monday, September 1st--- Today we went to Sunsplash (Thanks Vonda)!  Huber's, Heywood's and Fairrington's.  It was so much fun.  I couldn't even remember the last time I had been there.  The kids had such a great time with their cousins and it was a great way to spend Labor Day.  After Sunsplash we went to dinner at Red Robin.  Family, Food and FUN!

Blake's Mystery Bag

Last week Blake had a mystery bag that he had to take to preschool.  The mystery bag is a brown bag and you put in anything you want and then write 3 clues to describe what's in the bag.  Into the bag he puts a little toy chicken.  So, I ask Blake what describes the item he put in the bag.  He tells me it is yellow, then tells me it has an orange beak.  I suggest for the 3rd clue that it lays eggs.  Mom, he says, it's not real.  Good point Blake.  I tell him that Mrs. Farnsworth's chickens lay eggs.  Mom, he says, those are real.  Good point again Blake.  The third and final clue that Blake came up with was that it had black eyes.

Lauren is 10 mos

Lauren turned 10 mos on Aug. 26th.  She is getting so big and feisty by the day.  She is walking everywhere and still sporting just one tooth.  She loves to be everywhere her brothers and sister are.  She is so funny-- she loves to carry things around (even if it is bigger than her.)  She went to the doctor for her well visit and was 18 lbs.  She is so much fun to have around-- she has the best belly laugh and loves to play peek-a-boo.   She is also waving bye-bye and shakes her head when we say no-no.  She also loves to dance.  We turn the TV to the music stations and she goes at it.  She has some great rhythm.
