"Families are as diverse as individuals. The activities they do together vary, but one thing is true for all of them: "In family relationships love is really spelled t-i-m-e, time." Whether family members get together for scheduled outings, sharing interests, or serving others, these gatherings strengthen relationships that can be eternal."
President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Dooms Day.... We Went to the Dentist

Wed., June 4th-- Today I took all the kids for their 6 month cleaning.  Well, anyways we will be going back to the dentist shortly (all 3 of them) thanks to their genetics from Brian.  Funny how 6 months ago Blake did not have a single cavity and now he has 3!  WHATEVER!  I make them brush everyday but come on who makes their kids floss everyday????? The dentist made me feel like a loser when I told her they don't floss everyday or every week for that matter.  She called the cavities on Blake very superficial (he won't need novacain)-- I think I might get a second opinion.  They called Chase's one cavity a FLOSSING CAVITY.  Anyway, we will be back at the dentist soon.

Kit Kats and Krabby Patties

Mon., June 2nd- I made the girls cinnamon toast for breakfast (Hayden's favorite).  The girls played and then we went to Walmart.  Hayden and Brylee wanted to wear matching clothes and have their hair done the same.  (I can remember doing this with my cousin Sara when we were together.)  I found some pink pants and then Hayden has two shirts that are almost exactly the same and then I put both of their hair in a ponytail (the ONLY hair do that Hayden will wear).  Such a shame because she has the BEST hair.  They looked so cute!  We had a great time and ate lunch at Walmart and I told them they could each pick out a treat.  Brylee picked a kit kat and Hayden picked out those gummy Krabby Patties!

Hayden's FIRST sleepover!

Blake, Hayden, Lauren and Brylee
Brylee
Hayden

Sun. June 1st-- After church we went to mom and dad's house for dinner.  Everyone was there except Steven and Elizabeth (Tatum was sick).  We had a lot of fun!  As we were going home the kids asked if they could spend the night with each other.  So, Chase went to Kaden's house and Brylee came to our house!  Hayden's FIRST sleepover!  The girls played and had a great time.

Simple Sunday Sentences

Attitude is everything.  Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.  Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, because life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain.

I keep coming across this saying and I love it.  I have been reading a few blogs about families with babies that have HLHS - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.  Can I just say how much this has made me put things into perspective?  Even when I think I am having a bad day or Lauren hasn't taken a nap all day, that I have nursed  her all day, that her feet haven't even touched the floor all day--- reading these families stories and what they are going through makes me realize that I need to be so much more appreciative of all the good things.  It has also made me realize that we have no idea what tomorrow brings.  Whether are kids are healthy or sick-- tomorrow could change all that.  I have been trying much harder to really enjoy the good moments and do my best during the bad.

Swimming at Sheri's

Sat., May 31st-- I took the kids swimming at Sheri's today.  It was so fun!  Sheri forgot to leave the key so it was a little tricky getting in.  Luckily someone was at the pool when me and the kids got there and let us in.  When Scott and his kids got there we were the only ones there.  (Problem with that is you have to have a key to get in AND out.)  So Kaden, Brylee and Branson scaled the fence.  I told Branson he was like Johnny Lingo!  I couldn't believe how they climbed it and it is a tall fence that curves at the top (to prevent people from climbing the fence!)  Scott waited in the grass until someone else came and then Sheri, Michael and her kids showed up.  We had a great time and I am sure this is just the first of many, many pool days at Sheri's!

FIRST day of SUMMER!

Thur., May 29th--Today is the official first day of summer for us!  Blake still had swimming lessons so Stephanie took him and Chloe to Traci's .  I took Chase, Hayden, Lauren, Hayley and Blake Foster to the summer movies.  The first one is The Pirate's Who Don't Do Anything.  It was cute and the kids had a great time!  Looking forward to a GREAT summer!

Last Day of School and GOODBYE JOSH!

Wed., May 28th-- Today was the kid's last day of school.  It was definatly a bittersweet day.  I am so excited for summer and no school (which basically means no schedule)-- Yeah!  BUT, I am sad because I realize another year is gone.  Chase will be in 3rd grade and Hayden will be in ALL DAY Kindergarten!  That is really a sad realization.  Especially because Chase started at Freedom as a Kindergartener.  Back then it was only half day and I dropped him off at the little playground.  Now it is Hayden's turn and before I know it Blake will be there and then Lauren and then all my kids will be in school and I will have an empty house and it will be quiet and clean and I think I will be REALLY SAD!  I'm serious.... I think I just may have another baby.  Anyway, I hate the thought of my kids getting bigger.  Enough about that I have to think about something else.
Something else but, still sad (and HAPPY)... Josh left for the MTC today.  His flight left early this morning around 6am.  Off he goes.... I talked to Linda and she was so sad.  She is so happy he made such a great choice to go on a mission but sad to not see him for 2 years.  I told her it could be worse----- he could be leaving for jail, or rehab, or Iraq.  I guess when you put it that way-- the MTC it is a GREAT place to be going!
